EXPERIENCE 

Mr. Van Voorhees is currently styling hair at Salon Bellamy Hair Salon in Dallas, TX. Jonathan provides hairstyling for a variety of clients as an independent contractor.

From 2007 - 2008 Mr. Van Voorhees worked as a stylist at Trade Secret in the Firewheel Town Centre in Garland, TX. From 2005 - 2007 he was Owner/Lease Operator of a salon suite at Salons by JC  in Richardson, TX.

From 1996 - 2005 Mr. Van Voorhees was employed as an IT Network Administrator / Programmer /  Project Manager for several companies. During this 10 year period he worked with Fortune 500 companies and smaller enterprises managing IT projects, developing web applications, administering company wide email systems, as both an employee and consultant. From 2001 - 2002 Mr. Van Voorhees worked as a Stylist - Elizabeth Arden Red Door Salon on Northwest Highway in Dallas, TX providing hairstyling for a variety of upscale clientele. In 1994 - 1995 he worked as a Stylist at Neiman Marcus Salon at North Park Center,  Dallas, TX, where he was promoted to manager. In 1993 - 1994 he worked as a Stylist at Regis North Park where he worked with Florence Kromer Boutique on a Komen Breast Cancer Foundation fund raiser in conjunction with Vogue Magazine.

From 1985 - 1993 Mr. Van Voorhees was owner of Avanti Design Studio, The Edge Hair Design, and Image by Design Studio in Dallas, TX, where he performed all aspects of salon management, promotion, staffing, payroll, etc. His personal clientele included: Patricia Neal, Jill Ireland, Anita Pointer, Maria Muldaur, Spanky McFarland, Elizabeth Wurtzel, Colette Avital and local personalities Peggy Sears, Helen Bryant, and others. He provided hairstyling for the Press Club of Dallas, Annual Gridiron Show for 10 years, and he was featured in the Dallas Morning News for fantasy hairstyling, and in local society columns by Helen Bryant.

Between 1983 and 1985 Mr. Van Voorhees served as Marketing Director/Stylist for Salon Americus in Dallas, TX. He attended many workshops and seminars on hair design as well as motivational seminars. Coordinated fashion shows, photo shoots, salon advertising and promotional efforts.

From 1980 to 1982 Mr. Van Voorhees worked with Backstage International Salons in Nashville, TN where he was featured in the Nashville Banner, The Shreveport Times, The Arkansas Democrat, and other newspapers for fantasy hair fashions, “New Nuke”, “Easter Basket”, and “American Flag” hairstyles. Mr. Van Voorhees also worked with country music celebrity Rosanne Cash, as well as other Nashville personalities.

Prior to 1980 Mr. Van Voorhees managed the McCain Mall salon in North Little Rock, AK for Glemby International and acted as the Glemby store liaison to the M.M.Cohn department stores in the Little Rock, Arkansas area. He also coordinated hair styles for the Bill Tice "Graffiti Prints Collection" fashion show at the Arkansas Arts Center.

Mr. Van Voorhees has attended numerous workshops and seminars on hair cutting, styling, coloring, and permanent waving. He has done platform work and worked as an educator for Victoria Davis Paul Mitchell Systems. Mr. Van Voorhees also coordinated fashion shows while working for Palais Royal in Shreveport, LA, and Backstage International in Nashville, TN.
